Well wishes for a hip

Having hips replaced seems to be the "in" thing to do lately...  am I right Ericka and Kathy? ;-)

I am on my way to visit Mom again at the hospital.  She had her hip replaced on Monday and is doing very well! The kids were intrigued at the mere thought of going to a hospital to see what it was all about.  We took her flowers and a thoughtfully written poem, skillfully crafted by Christopher, Adrienne and I.    It takes a lot of work to tastefully rhyme with words like hip, limp, groin.  We even quoted Sam Malone from Cheers.  Anyone know what I am referring to?

Maybe I should share the poem with you?

For now, wish warm thoughts for a speedy recovery for those who recently had hip surgery!

We are excited for you to be home and resting Mom!  And to see you work that walker!

Spring has sprung!

Yay for Spring!  After the brutal winter we have had here in Texas, I am ready for Spring ;-)

I am still working away on signs.  I was working on this sign when the girls were in bed.  Painting these sign does take some time, but is also relaxing.  Caleb was still awake and was visiting with me while watching me paint and I asked him to help.  No free rides in this house!

I really like how this turned out.  Caleb did a good job!  The colors are perfect for Spring!

Do you remember when I mentioned Dad's amazing idea for my signs?  Well, here it is...

Hippity, hoppity
Happy Easter!

But wait.  There's more!  Flip the sign over...

Think Spring!

A double sided sign!  Dad suggested using both sides of the sign, allowing you to have two unique signs to hang up!

I envision double sided signs to coordinate with the seasons.  I think it could work!

Here is a green version of the Hippity, hoppity Happy Easter sign.  I just adore this cute bunny rabbit and the simple white lettering.

What do you think?  Am I on the right track for signs?  My next job is Mom's pantry door... BIG changes going on over there and I can't wait to show you what they have done.  I also am working on GROCERY and LAUNDRY signs using old Texas barn wood that we found!

Do you have any sign ideas for me?!

More signs

I have been working on some more signs and hope to soon have them listed on our Etsy shop, somuchtodew.  I even have a few seasonal ones to show you next!

This is one of my favorites.  I wish I made more time to read books.  Actual books.  Not blogs, not homework books.  Books of my choice.  At night, when the house is organized, clean and there is not one piece of dirty laundry...

This sign is approximately 12 x 12 inches and was done in primary colors (think kids room, gameroom, classroom, library).  I plan to do this sign is more girly/softer colors as well.

My next sign is a bit larger, 12 x 18 inches. This one will soon be hanging in my craftroom because it is painted in colors that just happen to perfectly coordinate.  And a bright reminder to create makes sense in a room set up for making things, right?!

This sign is another 12 x 12 inch piece and is a happy reminder that I think we all need, to just be you.  I constantly remind my kiddos to be nice and to be kind no matter what anyone else does or says.  Hopefully, they are listening and will learn to be happy and content with who they are, what they have, clothes they wear...

Well, what do you think?  Are there any sayings you love that I should make into signs?  Please share your ideas!
