Just a typical night at the dinner table...
It rained off and on just about all week which limited our swimming time. This double rainbow made it a bit better! Do you see it?
I won Mom of the Year award because I took the kids to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The kids LOVED this movie and are asking to see it again. I have no interest in these turtles, but must admit it was pretty funny!
We went on our first family hike that covered 3 1/2 miles. Not too bad for our first hike! We already have our next hike planned.
Chad taught the kids the first rule of hiking (according to Chad) - find the perfect walking stick.
The kids had such a fun time being kids and climbing trees.
Ella stopped numerous times to make an X and write "dig it" underneath. I wonder how many people stopped to dig for the buried treasures?
Olivia balanced.
Chad showed them how to knock down dead trees. I imagine he did this a lot when he was younger ;-)
We climbed up hills.
We found little ponds.
And stopped for snacks.
We found old bricks.
And discovered huge, mysterious holes.
How neat is this little building?!
We found huge logs and walked the plank like pirates.
And then jumped from log to a little tree trunk. Still can't believe none of them fell in ;)
After our hike we ate appetizers on the rooftop of a restaurant.
We went back to the Saratoga State Park so Caleb could finish building a dam. Remember Olivia smashed her finger last time so we left before the dam was complete. Here is how it looks a week later... Ouch!
Caleb worked so hard and was so determined.
And here is the completed dam. Well done, Caleb!
Olivia played.
Ella made mud pizzas.
Applied Materials organized a team building event at the Great Escape Six Flags. We were supposed to fly home this day, but could not say no to a FREE day at a theme park!
When we got there we were surprised to see Uncle Christopher ;-)
Caleb and Chad were on this ride! So brave!!
We had so much fun! The weather was perfect and the lines weren't too long. We saved the water ride until the very end. We all rode it first and got totally soaked! The kids had so much fun, they asked the worker if they could stay on the ride again - and again!
And that ends another fun-filled week! Next week involves a visitor! Check back for an update.
More fun and excitement for the Plemon children! They sure love being out in nature--poor Oivia's fingers. I hope she doesn't loose her nail. Papa's thumb looks the same. And Tommy lost his nail after he caught it in a car door. Not a good summer for fingers and hands. But how can you fit anymore fun into one summer? It has been so much fun to see all that you are doing. I look back on all the summer posts. We miss you all so much. Can't wait to see your post on your summer visitor. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us.....LYLALAMYALALM
